Historical note: Tom Ridge was the first head of the newly formed Department of Homeland Security (another wacky concoction of the George W. Bush administration).
In October of 2002, the Department of Homeland Security recommended that American Citizens stock up on two items: Duct Tape and Plastic Sheeting. This was recommended so we could make an air tight room in case of chemical or biological weapon attack. Well, the scare tactic worked (for the duct tape companies). It brought a nation-wide run on duct tape (and, we assume, plastic sheeting). Which it turns out is quite handy to have around if you don't have auto glass replacement coverage on your auto insurance policy. Here are some examples. Got more? Send them to us!
...and when your window refuses to roll up all of the way, do what this guy did.
